About the Figures: The Green Hornet television series first aired on the ABC television network in 1966 and lasted for 26 classic episodes.

Factory Entertainment is proud to present The Green Hornet and Kato as they appeared on the small screen.

Sculpted by Masked Avenger Studio’s Ruben Procopio and Bryan Wynia, each figure includes a display base and interchangeable hands/weapons. The Green Hornet can be displayed with either his fearsome sting or Gas Gun. Kato can be displayed with Nunchuks or throwing dart.

Our Take: The Green Hornet TV show was a great example of mid-60s action drama. The show even crossovered with the 1966 Batman TV show! Factory Entertainment has produced some really cool Hornet merchandise for the new film and this action figure set from the classic TV show, featuring the legendary Bruce Lee. The sculpt on these is absolutely fantastic! The level of detail is amazing and the poses are wicked. They do come with alternate hands, but I really like the way they come standard. You can leave them in the box or remove 'em and display at will. We highly recommend these for any fan!

WOW! All I can say is wow. Dexter really redeemed itself to us here at the Legion with season six. The last few seasons have been a little draggy since Trinity, but this season has it all! The ending was the culmination of Debra's oh so blissfully creepy feelings about her brother and the secrets that he holds...we have a video of the last 40 seconds below. This February, prepare for the Punisher story you never thought you would read as Jason Aaron & Steve Dillon bring their epic run on PunisherMAX to an end with PunisherMAX #22. Frank Castle has been through it all and just when you think you know what’s coming in the series finale, think again.

“It's been a big sick bloody thrill working on this series and a right honor following in the footsteps of Garth Ennis,” explained Aaron. “I must say, I'm as proud of this series as anything I've ever done at Marvel, in large part because of the amazing art team of Dave Johnson, Matt Hollingsworth and of course Steve Dillon. This was always intended to be one big story, with a very specific beginning, middle and a slam-bang mother of an end. I'm afraid I can't say any more about the ending than that….other than that it gave me chills, just getting to write it.

"I've drawn a lot of Frank Castle over the last dozen or so years and I've been lucky enough to work with some really good writers while doing so,” said Dillon. “Jason has really delivered on this one, so much so that I wait for the script to arrive in my inbox like a fan waiting for the book to hit the shelves in the store. He's taken some great characters, like the Kingpin and Bullseye, and given them his own MAX twist. He's also taken Frank on a tortuous, personal journey and it's all been great fun to draw.”

To ensure retailers have enough copies to meet demand, Marvel will be going back to press on PunisherMAX #17 and PunisherMAX #18. The chapters kicking off “Homeless,” the name of Aaron and Dillon’s final arc, are only a taste of what’s in store for Frank Castle and Marvel wants to make sure no fan misses the beginning of the end.

“The day has come. You always knew the Punisher’s one-man war against organized crime would end bad, but you never knew how bad,” added Marvel Editor In Chief, Axel Alonso. “With PunisherMAX #22 Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon bring the tragedy of Frank Castle’s life to a boil and their epic run to a bloody climax that will haunt readers for years to come.”

Tim Burton Designs Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Balloon

On the heels of sharing his art with visitors to the L.A. County Museum this year, Tim Burton has designed a special float for the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York. The popular director’s creation is a stitched-together balloon boy named B. Boy and is part of the parade’s “Blue Sky Gallery’s” series, which includes works by prominent artists such as Tom Otterness, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring and Takashi Murakami.

In a press release, Burton said, “I’ve always had a fascination with balloons. B. Boy looks forward to his flight through Manhattan on Thanksgiving Day.” According to the noted helmer, B. Boy was stitched together from old birthday party balloons left over from children’s parties that took place on the upper floors of the hospital. With his pointed teeth and uneven stitches, B. was not allowed to play with the children at the hospital. B. withdrew to his basement home and watched his favorite film, The Red Balloon. B. Boy hoped that one day he too would be able to fly above the city and bring joy to one small child.

Tim Burton’s 2012 projects include a new 3-D version of his early short Frankenweenie, produced by Oscar-winner Don Hahn, featuring the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Martin Short and Tom Kenny. He is also directing a feature version of the long-running vampire soap Dark Shadows, starring frequent collaborator Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green.

Synopsis: The year: 2020. The place: Empire City. Though the concept may be simple, the job isn't easy: The Big Boss and his gang are the roughest and most persistent bunch of criminals to challenge law and order in Empire City.

Review: I freakin' LOVED C.O.P.S. You remember this one with the tagline "Fighting Crime in a Future Time." This series was released in part a few years back, which Mill Creek mirrored earlier this year, but it was never completed. Now...finally..we get it all! Mill Creek has done the impossible and given us the complete series of C.O.P.S. on DVD! Thank you! I never actually got to see all of the episodes as a kid, due to our local TV network changing the line-up, so this is extra exciting for me! The toys were amazing..the character rocked..this futuristic crime-fighting action-drama is one of the few shows from the 1980s that still holds-up.

This DVD collection features the concluding 33 episodes from this animated series based on the popular toy line from Hasbro®.

The last 22 episodes (eps #43-65) have never before been available on DVD!

Film Synopsis: “TOY STORY”

Set in a world where toys come to life when people are not present, meet two rival toys – Woody, a pull-string talking cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, a superhero space action-figure. The comically-mismatched duo eventually learn to put aside their differences when circumstances separate them from their owner, Andy, and they find themselves on a hilarious adventure-filled mission where the only way they can survive is to form an uneasy alliance.

While Andy is away at cowboy camp, Woody is toynapped by Al McWhiggin, a greedy collector who needs Andy's favorite toy to complete his “Woody’s Roundup” collection. Together with Jessie, Bullseye and the Prospector, Woody is on his way to amuseum where he'll spend the rest of his life behind glass. It's up to Buzz, Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Rex and Slinky Dog to rescue their friend and remind him what being a toy is all about.

Andy is preparing to depart for college, leaving his loyal toys troubled about their uncertain future. When a mix-up lands them at Sunnyside Daycare, the untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice, so it’s all for one and one for all as plans for the great escape get underway. More than a few new faces – some plastic, some plush – join the adventure, including Barbie’s counterpart, Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants, and a strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY’S FIRST LOOK AT THE AVENGERS

ON THE SET OF THE ULTIMATE SUPERHERO MOVIENEW YORK – What do you get when you put Marvel’s biggest superheroes in a room together? In this week’s cover story, Entertainment Weekly went to the set of The Avengers to find out.

For Avengers aficionados, there will be plenty of details to debate and drool over between now and May 4, 2012, when the film launches next summer’s movie season. But the lure of the film, particularly for casual fans, is simply seeing the buff and (mostly) brainy all-star team—Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)— standing united at the law-enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D., which dispatches them in a giant flying helicarrier to danger zones around the world.

The stakes are obviously high for the film, which just wrapped filming. At risk is not only the movie’s estimated $220 million budget, but also one of the most promising tent pole franchises in Hollywood. The Avengers comprises half a dozen iconic Marvel Comics characters, many of whom could spawn a stand-alone franchise. Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, each aiming for theaters in 2013, could be either dramatically helped or hurt based on how The Avengers is received. Legions of devoted fans worldwide are just praying The Avengers doesn’t get screwed up on its way to the screen. The movie’s writer-director, Joss Whedon, is one of them. The creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the cowboy/space saga Firefly is a pop culture demigod—and no stranger to ensembles or superheroes, having helped with the script for this summer’s Captain America and having written some of the acclaimed Astonishing X-Men comic-book series. Still, The Avengers has him feeling like what The Hulk might call a ‘puny human.’ “Every day I make some boneheaded mistake,” he confides. “And I go, ‘Really? Wow. So no learning curve, huh?’ ” Whedon says he’s occasionally gone home after a long night of shooting and detoured straight to the local Starbucks to spend the dawn hours hammering out much more detailed new scenes. He laughs nervously. “There is a weird element of: They handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.”

Some fixes have been easy. Others have been more taxing. Before filming began, Ruffalo had to take over the role of The Hulk from Edward Norton, who was dropped from The Avengers after clashing with Marvel over the final cut of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. In the spirit of camaraderie, Ruffalo called his predecessor before accepting the role: “Norton and I are friends, and he was like, ‘You’ve gotta do it, buddy.’ He basically bequeathed it to me. It was very cool and very generous of him.”

On the Iron Man movies, Downey became infamous for improvising and pushing for heat-of-the-moment script revisions. Or, as he colorfully puts it, “I dominated like a rabid, horny gorilla.” But that impulse had to be tempered on The Avengers, which requires more sharing than he’s used to—something Downey learned after pushing too hard for Tony Stark to take center stage in Whedon’s early drafts. “I said, ‘I don’t know what you’re thinking, but Tony needs to drive this thing,’ ” Downey recalls. “He was like, ‘Okay, let’s try that.’ We tried it and it didn’t work. Because this is a different sort of thing. Everybody is just an arm of the octopus.”

In the end, the actors are so glad to be sharing the burden that the cast and crew joke that the code name for the movie— used to avoid unnecessary attention during the shoot—is Group Hug. “Joss describes it as the definition of family,” says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “These are people who have no business being together, but they are thrust together and need to make the best of it.” To that end, he says Marvel is keeping the focus on these core characters, and not introducing a slate of new heroes through cameos. “We didn’t want to make a big mess,” Feige says. “They don’t walk through the S.H.I.E.L.D. commissary and see another 20 superheroes.”

One thing that did help the actors bond was shooting in New Mexico, where they all were out of their element. “Any time you film somewhere where nobody is from, you’re forced to hang out together off set,” Evans says. “No one knows anybody, no one has any prior obligations out here, no one has any dinner plans because we’re all alone.” Johansson, Ruffalo, and Renner caught a Mötley Crüe concert, and Whedon (when he’s not rewriting) has been known to take his team dancing. Wait…dancing? “It’s my favorite thing in the world. I know every dance club in Albuquerque,” Whedon says, drop-dead earnest. “It’s not like I’m deliberately saying, ‘Oh, we must foster a sense of unity,’ but it’s fun when you see everybody cutting loose together.” Renner says they got even closer when the production moved to Cleveland later in the summer: “We were all in the same hotel, huddled together. It was like being at camp.”

Could they be getting along too well? Whedon shrugs. “I was like, well, if they hate each other, I guess we can use that,” he jokes. “But they don’t.”

Beginning this month, Power Rangers emPOWER is partnering with Every Body Walk!, an online educational campaign aimed at getting Americans up and moving. Every Body Walk! and Power Rangers emPOWER are launching a new program focused on encouraging kids to walk to school for health and fitness. As part of this new initiative, Every Body Walk! included the Power Rangers in their upcoming “Walking School Bus” event at the Center for Total Health in Washington, DC on September 23. This event brought together educators, kids, parents, and health professionals to encourage kids nationwide to walk to school. This event also raised awareness of “Walk To School Day” on October 5. The Power Rangers will celebrate this year’s “Walk To School Day” by accompanying students in Los Angeles as they walk to school, taking part in a national campaign that is activated at more than 5,000 schools nationwide.

Once again, the Power Rangers emPOWER Activities Kit Sweepstakes is offering schools and youth organizations the chance to win a $10,000 donation and a visit from the Power Rangers by activating “Ranger Training” within their organizations. Schools and local non-profit community groups can enter now through November 11, 2011.
